[edit]

Years ago during 1971 I had 2 inestinal by-pass surgeries in order to lose weight. The procedure done then no longer is used and has been replaced by newer methods.

However, the surgery did work for me with the possible exception that I have found a severe shortage of vitamin B12 since I have no ILLEUM and thus cannot absorb B12.

I wonder, though, what other shortages may be the case caused by the fact that I do not have an ILLEUM for the absorption of nutrients, etc.

If anyone has some insight into this matter or can offer suggestions I would be very interested in finding out what possible shortages I may have or might encounter and then look into solutions for such malabsorption.

You may contact me at [email address removed] with questions, comments, or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Louis J. Asmo [email address removed]

I have removed your email address. This just gives you spam, as talk pages are spidered by spam crawlers. Please await response on this page. At any rate, you should be talking to your own surgeon rather than asking a bunch of complete strangers. JFW | T@lk 22:32, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't that the point of a discussion board?? yeah! anyway!

I doubt the claim that wikipedia talk pages are spidered. Nonetheless, this page is for discussion of this article, not personal issues, so there is little or no reason to provide personal contact information. --Una Smith 14:40, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Malabsorption

[edit]

I have a 3 and 1/2 year old boy. He was potty trained for 6 months with no incidents (or occasional here and there). All of the sudden, he started wetting his bed every night. Then about a month later, he started wetting his pants during the day. Now, he has just started soiling his pants. I first thought it was behavioral, but then learned after repeated doctor visits and tests that he has Malabsortption!!!! 3 YEARS OLD.......WITH MALABSORPTION???????

How do you say malabsorption? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.237.69.38 (talk) 21:21, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
