Bath affiliation

[edit]

Oceanview1590, you've added two sources for Furutani-Seiki's Bath affiliation, but they're both from 2015. Do we know that he still works there? I can't find a profile page for him on their website, and neither can I find evidence of the current existence of something called the "UK Research Centre for Regenerative Medicine" at Bath. A Google search suggests it was called the Bath Centre for Regenerative Medicine, but I can't find a current website. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:56, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This source from 2018 states "Professor Furutani-Seiki holds a visiting associate professorship in the Department of Biology & Biochemistry". Cordless Larry (talk) 09:01, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Makoto is now a visiting professor at the University of Bath from the Japanese University - Yamaguchi. Both universities have research collaborations in their field of science. However, the Centre for Research in Regenerative Medicine exists at the University of Bath (https://researchportal.bath.ac.uk/en/projects/centre-for-reserach-in-regenerative-medicine)
One thing that's is worth mentioning though is the fact that, whilst Makoto's profile might not be directed updated on the University's website, there are no news to tell us that he's no longer a research fellow at same university and marking this area as "failed verification" to me defeats the purpose as until there's a clear proof from a cited source by any editor to confirm he's no longer there, I think its better to allow it for now with those cited sources. Of course, I welcome your views on this. Oceanview1590 (talk) 09:48, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The link you've just provided is about a project that ended on 30 September 2008. The latest source I've found states that he's a visiting associate professor at Bath. This contradicts the article, which states that he is "Director of the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and the Biochemistry Research Division, University of Bath, UK". Those are different things, hence the need to update the article. Cordless Larry (talk) 09:57, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Appreciate the steer, thanks Cordless Larry Oceanview1590 (talk) 17:07, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
