Lewis and Clark??

[edit]
According to Lewis and Clark they then numbered some 2,000.

It's news to me that the Lewis and Clark expedition got to Cape Flattery; the marine fur traders out of Nootka Sound/Barclay Sound had already been in contact, wouldn't the population figure at the time come from somebody who'd actually met the tribe, not somebody who only maybe had heard of them (as with Lewis & Clark)....Skookum1 (talk) 15:33, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Algonquian-Wakashan??

[edit]
The Makah are the southernmost of the Wakashan branch of the Algonquian-Wakashan linguistic stock, being the only member of the Wakashan group within the United States.

Really? Never heard of Algonquian-Wakashan before......somebody's got their linguistic phyla crosspollinating....Skookum1 (talk) 15:35, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, it's hypothetical, like Na-Dene, not concrete....I'm not sure that, because it's hypothetical, it should be spoken of as if it's factual....Skookum1 (talk) 15:36, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
