Your facts on the affidavit are wrong, Geo Swan. According to the New York Times, the filing speaks of restricting attorney visits and information provided by attorneys to their clients. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/26/washington/26gitmo.html In the interest of sound scholarship, and the use of source materials, do you have a link to the actual affidavit and filing that accompanies it?Yachtsman1 (talk) 23:23, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You say I am wrong? Yet aren't you merely paraphrasing what I wrote? Geo Swan (talk) 20:16, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Mediation - I will not engage in an edit war with you. Your claim is not supported by your own source, and does not link to the actual document described. The disputed claim is as follows:

"Captain Patrick M. McCarthy, Joint Task Force Guantanamo's Staff Judge Advocate submitted an affidavit about further restrictions the Department of Defense wanted to place on mail between Guantanamo habeas counsels and their clients."

I request a neutral third party mediate this issue. Thank youYachtsman1 (talk) 20:33, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am very relieved to read you are denouncing edit warring. May I suggest you be more specific about what you think is wrong with this passage? If you state your concern clearly, maybe you will convince me, in which I will happily modify the passage myself, and no 3rd party will be necessary. Geo Swan (talk) 20:40, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A neutral third party will also need a specific explanation of your concern. Geo Swan (talk) 20:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I made a slight change to add facts as stated in the article that were left out of your original post. My main concern is that this article be both neutral and true to the links. The remaining issues we can address later.Yachtsman1 (talk) 06:54, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Detainees

[edit]

I have modified this page, replacing the term "captive" with the proper term of "detainee". Thank you. Yachtsman1 (talk) 07:25, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
