The individual has had starring roles in multiple productions (over 5 years) at The Metropolitan Opera house, arguably one of the most famous opera houses in the world, not to mention lead roles at the Royal Opera House, and the Vienna State Opera.

Additionally, her first place prize at Operalia, The World Opera Competition qualifies her per:

WP:MUSICBIO — #8 Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award.

WP:MUSICBIO — #9 Has won or placed in a major music competition.

I think moving the article from Maija Kovalevska to Maija Kovaļevska was a mistake. I can't find any English-language source using the Latvian native spelling. The article should be moved back. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 01:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
