Mahela Jayawardene → Mahela Jayawardena – Mahela uses the spelling Jayawardena in his social media profiles.

Weak oppose as a player, he did have Jayawardena on his shirt, at least at the end of his career. However, almost all English language sources spell his name as Jayawardene e.g. Cricinfo, i news, Times of India. Both seem to be valid spellings, but Jayawardene is the one most commonly used in reliable sources. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:51, 18 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Weak oppose I agree with Joseph2302 here, while he may personally prefer this spelling of name, there is an abundance of use of Jayawardene in sourcing in English language sources. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 09:21, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
