Disagreement
[edit]I do not agree with what is said here. That is not the truth. You are not going to find the truth on the net. (I will post more here later.)
Truth is always hard to find, but I've done my best with my contributions to stick to facts verifiable from quality sources. This is a controversial subject, so must be handled with extreme caution. Alex Law 13:48, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Difficult Neutrality
[edit]Finding true neutrality in this article would have to be very difficult. The latest revision of the page sticks to the story mentioned here: http://magnificatmealmovement.com/ , minus the particular bias inherent in those who are part of, or against it. I suggest that this revision be classed as neutral, the only possible point against that is the omission of past media issues. Perhaps this article will be fine left as-is.
The following comment is a left reply over to my old (now edited) comment.

Actually I have seen paperwork from Debra to her "followers" (proof? This statement could be made by anyone, especially considering the sign-off line (dawmail333 (talk) 07:57, 10 August 2009 (UTC))) describing how she is located in the United States. Watch out for this cult-like group. -M 10/06/2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.38.3.35 (talk) 23:47, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Source
[edit]The following thesis might be useful as a source for the article: http://dialogueireland.wordpress.com/2009/01/20/the-magnificat-meal-movement/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Themadhair (talk • contribs) 18:50, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
You may choose to use that article as a source, but I do dispute the neutrality of the writer. I recall hearing some incidents involving him vs the MMM, but can't see to bring anything up. Disregard me if you can't find anything either, but once again, I do wonder at the neutrality of his articles. dawmail333 (talk) 08:03, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Unless he has written multiple theses that I'm unaware of then I'm not following you. --213.202.177.7 (talk) 21:26, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
The "Meal"
[edit]There is nothing about the "magnificient meal" in this article. I need to know exactly what "the meal" was and what "the meal" means to the "magnificent meal" movement. I'm guessing it would be pritty "magnificent", possibly a roast or lasange.60.241.37.187 (talk) 03:15, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
The "Meal" was in reference to the hour of Eucharistic adoration that was started monthly. In contradiction to what is written here, in 1993, Debra Geilesky started the Magnificat Meal Movement, trying to promote Eucharistic Adoration, in full obedience to the Catholic Church. The word "Magnificat" is referring to Our Lady's Magnificat (My soul magnifies the lord, etc). After the adoration, she would speak on a Catholic topic, usually to do with her apparent locutions or visions, and then there would be some food and drink afterwards. I know this because I was there for many of them. We were encouraged to continue the practice in our own parishes. It was gradually, around 2001-2003 that Debra's teachings showed major differences from the Catholic Church. This is when I stopped following her progress. I don't know when the complete break was made by Debra from the Catholic Church, but initially, at least by her own assertion, the Movement was meant to be obedient to the Catholic Church. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.178.133.159 (talk) 03:24, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
