Talk:Magid (Jewish mysticism)

Jewish mysticism is for me a fascinating subject but its discussion here lacks clarity. Since I am not a Jew and have no credentials as scholar, I will confine my efforts to correcting English usage and hope others, better qualified than I, will review the subject matter. [edit]Big problem: This article, Magid (Jewish mysticism), attempts to deal with the subject matter of Maggid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maggid), which needs no editing. Magid and Maggid are alternative spellings of the same word. Should I continue editing Magid or should I request its deletion? Wugo (talk) 04:00, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
This article should definitely be deleted. It was written by someone who is unaware of the terminology to the point of conflating Maggid with "Magi", even though the root of the word is /hgd/ -- a bias toward personal Enochian invention? And also what's the talk of Meggido, the name of a mountain in Israel (Har Meggido) where Revalation, not Jewish tradition, places the final battle of "Armaggadon". The errors in terminology shake my confidence in the author's awareness of the facts, which I lack the ability to assess.
That said, it's not a duplicate. This article is aparently about teaches from heaven -- angels, Elijah, etc... That article is about a very normal human kind of rabbinic preacher. micha (talk) 14:38, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
