Article Cleanup?
[edit]I don't know about you guys, but I'm kinda...horrified that the article for a popular and great show could be so...sloppy? Most articles for Anime I've seen have sections for plot and other things taking up most space. Here, however, the characters, many whom have their own pages, take up nearly the entire article. I can't do anything right now, as I'm about to leave, but when I get back I'm going to see what I can do to help. Anyone else willing? AsunaNegi 11:36, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
26 Episodes
[edit]So it's really going to be 26 episodes long? That's great to hear, seeing the once-again expanded cast would be difficult to fully flesh out in a mere 12 episode season. Wererat42 06:12, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Names changed back?
[edit]Is there any particular reason the character names were changed back to the non-official spellings? DarkMorford 15:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think so. My interpretation was that someone saw those names, didn't care check the history and reverted the spellings. Though Tiana did get changed back to official spelling of Teana, Fate's article uses the official spelling of "Harlaown" while Chrono's article doesn't even though the entry uses the official spelling for it's title. Feel free to change them to the official spellings and leave a message for the person who reverted them. Robtf 12:49, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hate to stir the pot, but which names are official? Ones from the show or ones from the show's website? They're similar at best. The most apparent example is the orange-haired girl, who is named "Teana Lanster" on the website but "Tiana Lanceter" in the show's opening theme (look closely). The opening also names Subaru's device as "Mach Cariber", and Fate's name is given as "Fate T Harloun" (I'll admit it's hard to read, but there's definitely no "w" in there). I see someone left a note in the article mentioning the discrepancy in Tiana/Teana's first name, but it looks like you guys missed the other two. While I'm no particular fan of the endless Nanoha naming debates, this has to be resolved carefully (and the quicker the better, before others notice the same things I did and bring the war on full-force). If we're going to keep this stuff orderly (well, relatively, anyway, as I imagine there's always people coming in and changing names on a whim if only just because they don't know any better) then we can't leave things as they are. 70.118.112.83 03:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- That's a tough one. Since their both really primary sources, it's difficult to say for certain. However, if you go by the heavily supported fan theory that the names are based on cars, you get something like this [1] which spells out which names are based on which cars, references that only work using the website spelling. Eg, Teana is from the Nissan Teana, so Tiana wouldn't work. It's possible that the staff working on the opening credits weren't aware of the references and went with more phonetical spellings. Of course, that's just theory unless we can source an official statement that supports it. -Omnisentry 04:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Omnisentry, I think you've nailed it right there. Usually the animation is outsourced nowadays. Magus Melchior 05:18, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Split episodes
[edit]I propose that the episodes from this article and from both Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's be split into a new article called List of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha episodes.--十八 04:58, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- I could work on this, assuming nobody has any objections to it. Is there a function in MediaWiki to split articles, or is it just copy and paste? DarkMorford 20:08, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm more than willing to do it, I just wanted to make sure since these are three series with slightly different names but are connected to each other. Since the notice has been up for a few days now on the other two article's talk pages, if no one says any objections in another day, we should make the split. And yes, just copy and paste the episode lists into the new article and format it correctly with the proper headings and stuff like that.--十八 20:10, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's a bit more than a straight copy/paste; one should check out the featured episode lists in the anime WP, as well as WP:TVE (although I doubt we'd need to go into great detail).
- Oh, and yeah, such a list would be good for this series, as it's now in season 3. Magus Melchior 11:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough about the copy and pasting thing, that's why I said to correctly format it and add in all the extra detail, like a succicient lead and proper sub headings related to each season. I'll get started on this now as there doesn't seem to be any objections to not go down this route.--十八 22:18, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
"Flight Lieutenant"
[edit]I'd just like to bring to attention that Flight Lieutenant is an Air Force rank used in Britain's Air Force and in the Air Forces of some of the other countries in the Commonwealth of Nations. It's equivalent in the American Air Force is Captain, and I'd think that since the English Wikipedia is probably primarily read by Americans, it'd be much more natural for us to call her "Captain Nanoha Takamachi" and not "Flight Lieutenant Nanoha Takamachi". --Robtf 14:34, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's a tricky path changing something like that simply because it would sound better to Americans. Wikipedia is very international, personally, I'm Australian. However, I support the change to Captain as it harmonizes it with Military ranks and insignia of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, which lists Captain in the Air Self-Defense Force for Nanohas rank of 一等空尉. - Omnisentry 01:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
Erio's name (Elio?)
[edit]I have seen some people spell it "Elio". I don't know how common this is, so I'll leave this issue for the anime fans of Wikipedia to discuss Jon Fawkes 03:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- We seem to have made a consensus about using the names from the official website due to the way that only using those spelling can the car references be made. The website lists "Erio"[2], so there we have it, even though a lot of people are using "Elio" as it just seems more... Englishified? I think it uses Elio in the OP as well, although we don't view that as official due to non-conformity with the website and the car references. -Omnisentry 05:20, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you for clarifying, Omnisentry Jon Fawkes 00:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
"Lushe Clan"
[edit]According to Caro's profile on the official website, she comes from 第6管理世界 アルザス地方少数民族「ル・ルシエ」 (The "Ru Lushe" people of the Arzas Region of the 6th Administrated World). So "Lushe Clan" is incorrect, the name of her "clan" is "Ru Lushe".Robtf 03:57, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
An address to the "Fan Reactions"
[edit]The Mid-Childa-supported Forwards are illogically given devices equipped with Belka-style cartridge systems, when such systems were considered rare and strange when requested in A's.
It is my opinion that this statement is ignorant and should be removed from the section.
Whoever wrote this hasn't watched enough StrikerS, or possibly hasn't even been paying attention. Teana is the only Mid-Childa system using forward who uses a cartridge system. And it's a bit different from the Belka cartridge system in that rather than using whole cartridges for spells it uses the cartridges to hold "magic bullets" for Teana to fire as part of her spells, and whole cartridges may last for multiple spells depending on how many "magic bullets" are spent on them. She reloads through a "Barrel Magazine", where the gun barrel on Cross Mirage is dropped and replaced using Teana's holsters. Furthermore, she is considered strange for using it and the cartidge system is considered rare. She mainly only uses it because her brother, Tiida, used it. And his death was attributed to his use of the cartridge system by his superiors, which is why Teana wants to prove herself using the same cartridge system he used and, in a way, prove them wrong.
There is actually no restriction on whether you use a cartridge system or not, otherwise Nanoha and Fate wouldn't still be using Raising Heart Excellion and Bardiche Assault. Teana originally used a cartridge system-loaded "psuedo-storage device" called "Anchor Gun", which she made herself when she was a cadet because she didn't want to use a staff like the others. Cross Mirage uses a cartridge system as he was made using Anchor Gun as a template, though Cross Mirage was also given a personality and alternate modes (only 2 of which, the unnamed gun form we always see and "Dagger Mode", have been seen and possibly being the only ones in existance).
Thank you and good day. --Robtf 13:18, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's "fan reaction", so it doesn't need to be logical or accurate. Nervertheless, such claim should be referenced. In fact, the whole article has a serious lack of references.Kazu-kun 06:44, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, apart from the names coming from cars (which is what we call "original research"), most of what is in the article is in dire need of sources. That's why I took the time to source my information when I was writing the Subaru Nakajima article. I might update the Subaru article with more information and sources soon too, due to the huge stuff that has been happening as of recent in the show. Robtf 15:41, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well actually, besides Teana, Subaru also uses cartridge mode with her Mach Caliber.
Alyxenace 16,29, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- The biggest point that's hardly adressed is that Belka was never stated to be 'rare' it was stated to be 'in decline' to be honest, the fact that Chrono could recognise it by merely seeing it, and the fact that they had such equipment and could easilly adjust both Raising Heart and Bardiche pretty much showed that the TSAB had been working with the Cartridge system for far longer, which is supported in StrikerS by Belka users like Zest and Quint. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Red storm (talk • contribs) 19:51, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers → Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS

There was no consensus for the move to change that which is commonly referred to to the new name. — Vivio TestarossaTalk Who 05:15, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]- Oppose. This is similar to a camelcase trademark IMO, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). Andrewa (talk) 00:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- It depeneds. Is the title supposed to be pronounced "Striker-S" or is it just pronounced "Strikers"? If it's just pronounced as "Strikers", than Oppose as the title is just stylistic and vioates WP:MOSTM. If it's pronounced "Strikers-S", maybe support. TJ Spyke 15:43, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose. The second capital "S" is only there to give the logo a graphical symmetry. It serves no grammatical purpose because it is not CamelCase and should be ignored by us for this reason. Whydontyoucallme dantheman (talk) 12:11, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism attempt
[edit]I've reverted four recent vandalizing edits that 203.130.209.9 made to the article. Can someone please take care of him? Thank you. MARQ 20:23, 17 January 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fyori Auricor (talk • contribs)
Move: DearS ok but StrikerS not?
[edit]Just a heads up that a recent discussion determined that DearS is an ok title: Talk:DearS#Requested_move_3. Perhaps it's time to revisit this one as well? I haven't done much research on this, but the case seems similar. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:02, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- The uppercase 'S' at the end is purely stylistic. Also, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers is simply a title instead of a trademark. So normal capitalization rules for titles should be followed. —Farix (t | c) 19:59, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
