[edit]I've deprodded the article. 2005 is a tad old to find newspaper coverage on the web, but this event and the expression "magic 45 minutes" is documented in a book, and I've added this reference. Without web coverage, it's hard to establish whether this is or isn't notable. As such, it should go a formal AfD if other editors feel that notability could be an issue. - I'll give it a bit of time to see if anything changes before AfDing. This seemed to be a term coined at the time and apart from a reference in a book, never used again. NealeFamily (talk) 02:04, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- Moriori, I see you created this article back in 2005. It may have fallen off your watchlist; do you have anything to add to this discussion? Schwede66 17:58, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- Seemed like a good idea at the time, and still does, to me. However, I guess we must make space for our hundreds of thousands of encyclopedic articles about pop stars and hollywood celebrities and UFOs and quack medicines and similar bullshit. Tks for the ping. Moriori (talk) 21:30, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- Appreciate the sentiment Moriori, but wonder if this event is really all that notable now? NealeFamily (talk) 08:41, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hm, when you say "notable now", you might just want to read WP:NTEMP. Schwede66 18:50, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- I agree, but did this saying reach the notability threshold in the first instance? The article was written very close to the event, and there does not seem to have been any further coverage of the saying except in one book? I do not think it meets the notability criteria for events. I can see merit in mentioning this term in articles relating to the sport/athletes involved.
