I'm failing this article as it's not ready.

The nickname is sourced to a fantasy baseball blog. While it's in MLB.com, it seems like the opinion of one person from a borderline source, just remove the nickname.
There is a bunch of stubby one to two sentence paragraphs... merge or combine them.
Close paraphrasing concerns with citation 27, "He also became the first Giant since Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson in 1905 to not allow a run in his first two career World Series starts.[27]" is pretty much a copy and paste from the source.
I really don't see the need of a "further reading" section when the one citation to the book can easily be incorporated to references and it discusses the season in general, not Bumgarner
"Youngest left-handed pitcher to throw 8 scoreless innings in a World Series start at 21 years and 91 days" - While interesting, the citation makes it read like original research, remove or find a mainstream source and incorporate it into the article.
Citation 17 is dead.
Be consistent with numbers under ten per WP:MOS.
Citation format is a mess, with some of them missing dates, other are missing author/publisher information, be consistent. Citation 24 for example the publisher is The Associated Press
What makes this a reliable source?

I haven't checked the prose closely but the sourcing concerns along with the obvious close paraphrasing concerns makes the article not ready for GA status yet. Secret ^account 19:17, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
