Response to Speedy Deletion threat

[edit]

The Machrie golf course is one of the best golf course in Scotland. I have no connection to them other than having played there. They are ranked 20th out of over 600 golf courses in Scotland. It was also designed by a famous designer and has stood the test of time.

The course is mentioned over 4,000 times in Google's index http://www.google.com/search?q=Machrie+Golf+Course&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a and is often included in itineraries of the best golf courses.

Wikipedia has an article about Machrihanish a golf course that it is often compared to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machrihanish_Golf_Club

Just how highly ranked does a golf course have to be before it qualifies to be included.

BTW: This whole process is very frustrating. I tried posting to my user page first but got the same error message three times. "Hidden SQL error". So I decided to post it live. The first time I tried to post it after doing all the work I got you've been timed out message, so I had to start over for the 4th time. Next when I saved it I got the message that it was a candidate for speedy deletion. An article that was a work in progress, and had to be saved because of the poor design of the software.

It seems the editors are more interested in deleting articles speedily than in getting some content that is of interest to golfers world wide.

I would have added more material, but the speedy deleters make it useless to do so. Markatty (talk) 07:31, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
