On removal of prod
[edit]WP:ATT does not state that English-language sources are necessary for an article, nor is that implied. It says, "Sources in other languages are acceptable if no English equivalents have been found." Dekimasuよ! 04:40, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- Aside from that, I'm not personally convinced that the subject of the article is notable. This may be a good occasion for a deletion debate, but not a prod based on verification. Dekimasuよ! 04:42, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't state that they were required, hence my use of "also." I noted it so it was clear that what little content is provided by the source isn't readable, and, therefore, checkable, by the vast majority of Wikipedians. While non-English sourcing isn't preferable, it is acceptable - I've sourced articles all in French, German, and maybe Portuguese before. I'll start an AfD. Picaroon 20:38, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
On Graphic Image
[edit]I don't understand why the graphic was removed. This graphic meets the guidelines as described in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Images_from_Amazon.com . I am adding it back. Haddub 16:11, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Looked at Picaroon's history and thought about Wikipedia's good faith assumptions. Deleted image to give Picaroon (or anyone) a chance to point me to the relevant guidelines for the deletion. Haddub 16:43, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thing is, Wikipedia:Images from Amazon.com isn't a policy, or even a guideline - but where the image came from is beside the point. Anyways, the image was a DVD cover, copyrighted of course, and can therefore only be used according to Wikipedia:Fair use. The fair use guideline disallows the use of fair use images when a free image could be reasonably obtained; free images of living people who are not currently in prison/in hiding can be reasonably obtained. Ourei Harada is living person who isn't in hiding/in prison, so the use of the photo is disallowed in this case. Picaroon 19:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- ok, gotcha. Thanks. Haddub 05:20, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- I should have looked at this note before adding a fair use DVD album again. Sorry, not sure what I was thinking. I'll take this one down too. Haddub 23:29, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
