- This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:54, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Foundation date
[edit]The subject of this article was founded in 2020, not 1874 (evidenced by citations from reliable sources). Please do not change the foundation date to that of a club that was legally terminated. Paul W (talk) 17:36, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Club records : Player records
[edit]Please note there appears to be an issue with the statistics displayed on the NWCFL official website.
If you look at, for example, 'Player Statistics for Laurent Mendy' on that website it currently (20-Mar-2022) shows Laurent as having made 41 appearances - 39 in the NWCFL and 2 in the FA Cup.
However the NWCFL fixture between Macclesfield FC and Avro FC on 19-Mar-2022 was Macclesfield's 38th NWCFL game of the season, so Laurent cannot have appeared in 39 league fixtures.
I think the issue arose due to the late postponement of the Padiham vs. Macclesfield FC match on 05-Feb-2022. I suspect that the Macclesfield FC secretary, in good faith, had completed the relevant table(s) relating to player line-ups on the NWCFL website in the expectation that the game would go ahead and when it did not, whilst the match itself was recorded as "Postponed" the player details appear to have remained in the system, so each of the players originally selected to play that day all have an additional appearance recorded against their name - which in turn would appear to be the source of "Player records" entry on this page?
I presume that the Club secretary will need to remove those entries on the NWCFL website (and correct other small issues that have previously been flagged) for the entries to be accurate / correct, and therefore reliable. 80.189.112.138 (talk) 15:40, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
Club records / Attendance / Highest away attendance (Top 3)
[edit]It appears that a typo has occurred in this section re: the attendance for the match vs. Congleton Town on 26 March 2022, possibly when the information for the match vs. Workington on 25 February 2023 was added.
The attendance for the Congleton Town game was previously recorded (correctly) as 1,668, but is now showing as 1,680 - which I assume is the result of a "slip of the finger" - see https://macclesfieldfcarchives.co.uk/attendances/attendances-2021-22-season/ . 2A02:C7C:9A04:2F00:B853:5F94:637B:3380 (talk) 20:06, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
Club records / Streaks / Longest unbeaten run (League)
[edit]A new mark of 25 matches was set, from Sat. 26-Nov-2022 (at Prescot Cables) to Sat. 19-Aug-2023 (vs. Gainsborough Trinity).
Having lost at Runcorn Linnets in the 16th league game of the NPL - Division 1 West 2022-23 season (on Tue. 22-Nov-2022), Macclesfield then remained unbeaten in league fixtures until the end of the season - 22 games (it being a 38 League game season) - https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/macclesfield/fixtures-results/2022-2023/league .
Wins in each of their opening 3 games of the 2023-24 (NPL - Premier season), were then followed by a defeat at Lancaster City on Tue 22-Aug-2023, bringing an end to the unbeaten League run - 22 league games to the end of 2022-23 , and 3 league games at the start of the 2023-24 season - https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/macclesfield/fixtures-results/league. 2A02:C7C:9A04:2F00:F128:8A47:E27A:B01F (talk) 01:17, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
