Conflicting information + "further reading"
[edit]1. According to the cited source, the Maccabaeans were established 1894. According to the other source of the article, they were established 1896. The first president however is listed starting 1891 and Ilan Pappés book "Lobbying for Zionism on Both Sides of the Atlantic" lists its establishment as 1891 too. I'll see if I can confirm the used source/find other sources.
2. As I understand it, the further reading section should link to papers, research, other articles etc. on the topic. The further reading section of this article however links to other works wikipedia pages because the works in question contain an article on the Maccabaeans. Once I get to adding information to this page I will remove or replace these links, unless somebody has better ideas or wants to discuss it. Shibabao (talk) 13:50, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry to reply to myself, didnt wanna falsify or edit my initial post. The entire history section is plagiarized from Sokolows book. The encyclopedia judaeica lists the same founding date, however the national UK archives list the archives for the Maccabaeans as starting in 1891.[1] I will go with that date for now and cite Ilan Pappé's book for it.
