Talk:Mac Brádaigh
Appearance
Phillip Mac Brady
[edit]- The beautiful Mountain of Sleive Glah is in this Parish. It is called Sliabh Gleatha by Philip Minister Brady in his Romance entitled the Prodigal Son. This Philip Mac Brady, the Dean Swift of Cavan, was a native of the Parish of Drong and a Parish Priest until he embraced the aristocratic religion of the State, for which he has handed down his name to posterity as Philip Minister. In this Romance he gives the fable which accounts for the name of Beann Eachlabhra now Binn-Aghlin and throws great light upon Irish Fairyology. It is preserved in the MSS in Trinity College, Class H, 1-4; see catalog.

The use of o'grady should be on O' grady page as O'Grady is nothing to do with the Mac Bradaigh clan other than some O'grady's used the name to excel in public positions. At the very least this fact should be acknowledged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.128.128 (talk) 21:33, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
as regard to the "theiving and dishonest" meaning is not at all accurate. Bradach has a short first vowel and would not be of the same word. * https://www.ancestry.co.uk/name-origin?surname=brady — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.40.29.232 (talk) 09:53, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
