Name
[edit]Fwiw, historically, obviously the anglicized form Martin Vries or de Vries are by far the most common but, as far as Google Ngram can show, the modernized Dutch form—not the same as the contemporary Dutch form—seems to be the most common in modern scholarship out of an apparent abundance of hypercorrection. It's a mistake but we should play the ball where it lies. Any scholars reading this, though, should be well aware that they should either be using the English form or the contemporary form and not this nonsense version that even the Dutch Wikipedia doesn't use. — LlywelynII 10:36, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
