MX-19 kernels
[edit]ALL MX-19.x versions use kernel version 4.19 by default, with an optional upgrade to a more recent kernel version. However, since drivers are compiled against specific kernel versions, upgrading the kernel often causes third-party drivers to break, so these optional kernel upgrades are not recommended. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.70.13.107 (talk) 19:30, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
RESPONSE: This comment is 1) out of date, since the ahs release uses an advanced kernel by default; 2) inaccurate, since a review of Forum posts does not support the contention that "upgrading the kernel often causes third-party drivers to break;" 3) unreliable, since unsigned.StormyJerry (talk) 16:32, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
NPOV
[edit]There's an excess of language in here that reads like an advertisement. "cooperative venture", "best tools and talents", "flagship", "unique", etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.78.202.153 (talk) 20:26, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
RESPONSE: I'll do a bit of editing, though the text is taken directly from the MX Linus website.StormyJerry (talk) 16:34, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
The wikipedia page must not be a direct copy of what is on the MX Linux website. I have edited the opening paragraph to get the language more in tune with what is found at the wikipedia pages for Debian, Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. 128.194.2.2 (talk) 04:53, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Please help with polishing this article
[edit]I did some moderate editing of this article earlier. It wasn't a bad article when I started, it was just that some information was out of date, and some of the computer terminology needed hyperlinks to other Wikipedia articles. Anyway, I would appreciate some additional input from other editors. SmileySnail (talk) 02:14, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- There was a recent time (2021-2022) where an editor or 2 took issue with the articles tone. Some of that discussion above. So, significant content was removed.
- Myself (MX Documentation Team member) and the head of the MX Linux developers (StormyJerry) are slowly adding back and improving the page. If you look at the article's history you will see us doing most of the addition edits. FullScale4Me (talk) 03:11, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm very glad to find that somebody else is working on this article, and I thank you for the good work.
- Also, I think I owe you an explanation for deleting the "AHS" paragraph. I checked on the website and saw that AHS is not its own edition; it is listed only as a sub-edition of Xfce, and as a feature of the KDE edition. Upon seeing this, I reflexively deleted the separate paragraph on it. That being said, I now realize that the paragraph on AHS is still necessary because it is a feature that is offered, that needs to be explained to those who do not know.
