Notability
[edit]How is this ship more notable than any other random ship? We can't have a Wikipedia article about every ship that ever sailed. Please explain what was actually special or interesting about MV Ramsey. --Slashme (talk) 16:49, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Superfluous
[edit]This unreferenced section has no relevance to this article in its current form, so I've moved it here from Service life.
- It was first expected that the MV Peveril would be able to meet this demand and the SS Fenella was sold at the beginning of the year. However, it became apparent that a second container vessel would be needed to expedite matters, and one was chartered and later bought (Conister II).

- It is quite relevant actually though the original writer did not make it clear. Ramsey and Fenella were the two cargo vessels in service to the IoM when containerization took off, and the company bought Peveril to meet the growth in demand and to use the new container technology. They sold Fenella on the assumption that the two ships could then handle cargo shipping to the island, Peveril with the new container shipments, Ramsey with the smaller traditional cargo technology. But Ramsey proved largely unsuitable for the task as containerization came to dominate the trade, and the company were forced to buy another container ship to make up the shortfall caused in part by Ramsey's outdated technology. They sold Ramsey off later that year having made up the shortfall with the more efficient vessels they had already purchased, Peveril and Conister II. I've tried to make this clearer in the article. - As I said, no relevance in its (then) current form. It is certainly clearer now that you have fixed it. Cheers. Weakopedia (talk) 15:04, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
