Declining prod
[edit]I'm going to decline this prod, as while it is of course true that there were many ships being sunk in this period and location, Mamutu's seems to be if anything somewhat more notable than most of those, particularly with regards to the circumstances of her sinking and the killing of survivors.
The article makes reference to David Jenkins's Battle Surface- Japan's Submarine War Against Australia 1942-1944. There are also references and descriptions in Howard McKenzie's Calgarron, Sue Ebury's The Many Lives of Kenneth Myer, Theo Aerts's The Martyrs of Papua New Guinea, Peter C. Firkins's Of Nautilus and Eagles: History of the Royal Australian Navy and a several page detailed account in Mark Felton's The Fujita Plan. I'd be curious to see this article expanded actually, I'll see what other sources are available and if I have time in the next few days, start a rewrite. Benea (talk) 21:32, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
