Bahama Viking
[edit]The vessel sunk but was refloated and returned to service in the Bahamas. I've updated the article to reflect the fact that the source calls it Bahamas Viking, because that's good form; however it does appear to have been Bahama Viking, assuming this photo is the vessel in question. Judging by this page it sunk in port (there's a photo) although sadly the source doesn't have a date. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 17:22, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- In fact, judging by that link - which actually shows the sunken ship in port in Copenhagen, rather than the Bahamas - and another shot of it in port in Denmark, in 1973, I'm beginning to suspect that it was bought for operations in the Bahamas but never actually got there before sinking (perhaps the new owners just wanted to get rid of it). -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 17:31, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
HMS?
[edit]During the time it was known as Gay Viking, this vessel were operated as part of the merchant navy and was crewed by merchant crewmen. She was not, at that time, a commissioned vessel in the Royal Navy and wasn't therefore an HMS. Unless there's a reliable source that states otherwise, I'll rename this article in a few weeks.
