[edit]Category:Shipwrecks in the Marmara Sea
[edit]Maralia recenly added the category:Shiwrecks in the Marmara Sea to the article. However, I am not sure whether it is a correct categorization, since the wreck was discerped and removed totally some time later. There is not a piece of the wreck on the site today. Please check. Thanks. CeeGee 19:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hello and thanks for the note. Normally I would not categorize a wreck that is not still in place as a shipwreck - however, I felt this one is notable for the event of the shipwreck, even though the ship is no longer there. This is in line with the definition at Shipwreck.
- On a side note, can I ask for reconsideration of using the term 'discerped' in the article? I had never heard the term, although I do find it listed at dictionary.com and it seems to be used properly in context; however, I do not find the term used in a single other article on Wikipedia. From your description of the wreck being 'totally removed', I would suggest using the term 'salvaged'. Maralia 19:44, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
OK. It is up to you. In the meantime, I changed the wording you claimed about. I hope, that is right now. CeeGee 19:40, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification - and for teaching me a new word :) Maralia 19:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Ervantc (talk) 05:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC) Photos will come shortly from Romania. I have in my collection some genuine photos taken from the burning wreck, unfortunately low quality (and need scan also). I will add one aerial color photo of a sister ship (m/v Histria Crown).
