I removed a section that took some liberty in commenting editorially about the participation of a former host. To begin with, editorializing is not neutral and should be avoided. Secondly, it was unsourced, and unflattering information about living people in particular needs to be backed up with reputable sources. Anything along these lines must have such a source if it is to be restored, and must also be written from a neutral point of view. --Michael Snow 06:42, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
what do people think of the page name move, I guess it doesn't matter too much, but I was under the impression that the channel was five (lowercase), as on the website Basement12 15:41, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Its brandname is "Five", the logotyping just uses a small "f". There are statements on the companies website that the name is Five, and they also use this as the identifier on the DTT and Sky Digital EPG's. Its legal name is, however, "Channel 5", same as ITV is legally "Channel 3". --Kiand 20:15, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
I just emailed the show and asked Jonny and JC to strike a pose for an updated photo for the article. Hopefully they'll play along! --ChrisPBS 00:46, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Baseball being canceled
[edit]Removed this section
"As part of a cost-cutting measure Five has now ceased its MLB coverage, and will not broadcast the 2009 MLB season, along with proposals to cut their NFL, NBA and NHL coverage after the respective seasons end. The exact nature of the cancellation is unclear, with Five not saying anything substantial - total ditching or just the studio coverage, leaving bought-in American feeds - but fans are not holding out much hope."
There has been nothing been announced apart from a footnote in an article int the Times, which is hardly definitive. Gavinturner (talk) 21:00, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Added the canceled section back in as i recived an email from BSUK and jonny gould saying that they have ended their 11 year association with the sport. I have added an extract to prove it;
"Welcome Fellow-Baseball Nuts....... God I'm going to miss saying that.
I'm sure most of you have heard the rumours. Five TV have ended their association with our beloved sport, or at least they have not committed to another season of Baseball on 5 every Wednesday and Sunday night. The rumours have been many and mixed, and I'm sorry that I'm not in a position to fully clarify the situation for you. What I can tell you is that if this is the end, it has been one hell of a ride. Understandably many of our hardcore viewers are pretty pissed off with Five, but rememeber they have made a 12-year committent and for that alone we should all be very grateful."
