Bad press section
[edit]I've moved this here for discussion as to whether it should be included:
The problem with the Maestro was not that it was a bad car, but that its gestation period was so long, it was almost out of date when it finally hit the market. By 1983, the trend in the motor industry was towards smooth, aerodynamic bodystyles typified by the Ford Sierra, Audi 100 and the Vauxhall Astra. The voice synthesis system used the voice of actress Nicolette MacKenzie, but soon gained a laughable reputation in the motoring press for giving erroneous warnings. The Maestro was one of the first cars to be designed with CAD.
I think it is POV, so unless citations are provided should be left out. -- de Facto (talk). 11:49, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Rover Maestro
[edit]This article claims that later versions of the Maestro were referred to as Rover Maestro's, but never wore the badge. I drove an L reg Rover Maestro and it certainly had the Rover Longboat on it somewhere. I think it was on the steering wheel, hubcaps, mudflaps and possibly even the bonnet.
My car was a ROVER, MAESTRO CLUBMAN, 5 DOOR HATCHBACK, 1993, 1275cc, Petrol, Manual, BLUE and for completeness the registration was L703 HUJ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.57.24 (talk) 20:10, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
An error in text where the Peugeot 309 is called a Foreign Car. In fact it was built at Ryton in Coventry and had as high a UK content as the Escort and Astra also built at that time in UK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.138.116.230 (talk) 13:17, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
