Copyrighted material

It appears to me that most of this article has been copied directly from the MAFFT website (https://mafft.cbrc.jp/alignment/software/), so I've added copypaste notices to that effect. This is problematic not only because the material is under copyright, but also because it doesn't have a neutral point of view. Some parts are even explicitly from the point of view of the MAFFT developers (To test the effect of the FFT approximation, we also implemented the...).

It's my opinion that we should simply delete these sections and continue adding free, encyclopedic material to whatever the parts of the article that are left. I'd like to hear other editors' thoughts on this. Gearfo (talk) 14:36, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
