[edit]User:tenakoutou said: "This is not a traditional picture but a contemporary piece of art." In fact it isnt a contemporary piece of art at all, as the commons description shows, but a drawing of six actual traditional real pieces of carved representations of the gods. It is traditional in that all the items are genuine. Kahuroa 05:22, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Clearly this image is mis-representative. It is a "drawing". The drawing does not in any way resemble imagery known from so-called "Maori Mythology".--Te Irirangi (talk) 06:23, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Referencing
[edit]The person who wrote this article uses the phrase "(Biggs 1966:447-448)" with different page numbers after every paragraph. The following Wikipedia page can help this person or someone else to write out references and insert citations correctly: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources. Copyright violation
[edit]This article should be called "Biggs on Māori mythology." I think the two paragraphs under "Tradition" should be removed as violating Biggs' copyright. That section will need to be rewritten, too. Questions? Comments? Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 02:44, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
