"Lyons School of Diplomacy"

[edit]

Made changes to the references to 19th century diplomat Richard Lyons, in the text and in the list of names at the bottom. Essentially the same changes as I have just made to the article on Richard Lyons himself. To reflect that the historians' use of the term "Lyons school" of diplomacy refers to the more metaphorical meaning of "school". Lyons is being credited with founding a tradition of intellectual and personal influence through subsequent generations of British diplomats he trained and perhaps those they trained. Not with the founding of a diplomatic training academy in the more literal sense, which was the idea conveyed by the earlier language in the article. "Clan" Lyon

[edit]

A review of the Clan Lyon page shows it's not appropriately sourced. There is no record of an actual Clan Lyon. The information on the Clan Lyon page came from a tartan shop website and isn't sourced. I'd remove the reference to Clan Lyon. Greyspeir (talk) 17:55, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Arms

[edit]

The original arms of the family are described as... Who did these arms belong to? A family technically doesn't have a coat of arms. Arms are granted to persons and there are rules who may use them afterward. Greyspeir (talk) 19:06, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
