File of the Golden Goose

[edit]

@Surfing bird: (I am replying here to the comment you left on my personal Talk page.) Per WP:CITINGIMDB, it's "disputed" whether IMDb is reliable for matters such as cast lists for released films; and WP:RS/IMDB says "the use of the IMDb on Wikipedia as a sole reference is usually considered unacceptable and is discouraged". Accordingly, this alleged unbilled cameo would benefit from a reliable published source other than IMDb. Regards,—Muzilon (talk) 20:30, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Muzilon: that may be for the IMDB discussion pages and trivia pages about the film, but the bar is set far higher to edit movie credits. While its not fool proof when a edit made to a film's credit's its supposed to be independently verified by review of submitted documentary evidence. Who made that edit is unknown to me, but the edit was reviewed and approved via the editing procedures I have included below. I considered the edit noteworthy to be included in the article as IMDB is used as primary external link source at the bottom of this Wikipedia article - it was this link at the bottom of this article which I discovered the extra role. You'll have to take out IMDB 'Pro' membership to find out who made that edit. Be that as it may, IMDb is still classified as a "Generally Unreliable" source per WP:IMDB. (On a personal note, I recently submitted an uncredited appearance by a different actress to IMDb and it was rejected, even though the source is a freely available interview with the actress herself!) Having looked at the party scene in ...Golden Goose, it's difficult to tell whether the "Girl dancing" is L.S. Moon or not, as the camera doesn't really linger on her. (And yeah, I know that's WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH on my part!) Muzilon (talk) 22:32, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
