Aspect

[edit]

Is the Bibi pic in the correct aspect ratio? It looks a lot more natural when stretched to 430 or so pixels wide. Alvis 03:58, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

James Bond movie

[edit]

This actress seems best known for her large role in the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only" - yet it receives no mention in the main article. Should it not be mentioned? SpaceHistory101 (talk) 20:14, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate missing?

[edit]

I have Mrs. Johnson-Givens' birthdate as 1958-12-13, which makes her exactly 64 years old as of this writing. Is there any particular reason that info should not appear here on Wikipedia? ZappoTheGentleman (talk) 14:13, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ZappoTheGentleman, What is the source of that date of birth? Per WP:BLPPRIVACY, "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public." That means that we cannot use a date that comes from IMDb or another unreliable WP:USERGENERATED source.
Also, WP:BLPPRIMARY specifies, ""Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, ..." That eliminates use of state birth indexes and similar government records.
If you have a source that is reliable beyond those conditions, please add the date with the appropriate citation. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:04, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Teblick, The rules as presented are clear; therefore I will not edit for birthdate. However, the reasoning (imo) is not at all clear. "…such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public." Wut? I'm not an experienced enough editor to contradict this with authority or precise backup but wouldn't many, if not most, facts published about public figures be objected to? Prohibition of court transcripts, conceivably, makes a bit more sense. But a prohibition of birth records and similar gov docs seems absurd? Thank you for posting the applicable rules—I'll do a closer read. But I'm left scratching my head. mazal (talk) 22:56, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Lezelmaz, You could bring that point up at Wikipedia talk:Biographies of living persons. Someone might be able to address your concerns there. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:00, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. ZappoTheGentleman (talk) 16:02, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
