Date of lynching

According to the cited newspaper report, this lynching occurred on a Wednesday afternoon. But the telegram was dated the 9th and the newspaper report was published on the 18th of June, a Saturday. This would make June 9th a Thursday, and would mean the lynching occurred on Wednesday the 8th of June 1881, not on Thursday the 9th. A telegram reporting the lynching being sent the following day would seem reasonable, considering the lynching happened in the afternoon. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 04:10, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
