Lead
- May as well add that he pulled out of the other event.
Background
- Has the country won any Olympic medals?
- Added. Courcelles (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Any known reason for the volunteer carrying the flag?
- Nope, usually it just means the delegation left before the closing ceremony. Courcelles (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Cross-country skiing
- "the standard of fewer than 100 FIS Points" — what does this mean?
- Removed as too complicated to explain adequately. FIS points are sort of like golf, the fewer you have the better... Courcelles (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- The first two sentences are somewhat confusing. The first is about the standards of an international organization, the second about the standards of a domestic organization. How are they related?
- Luxembourg has a higher standard for "we're going to send you" than the FIS does for "you can enter an athlete". Courcelles (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Slowest qualifying time?
- Who won the medals?
- Perhaps worth adding a line to the chart for the other event, and just saying "Did not compete" or "Withdrew".
Another one, Courcelles. --Usernameunique (talk) 07:18, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- I"m lost, Usernameunique, this review seems to go with Luxembourg at the 2014 Winter Olympics, yet is filed under Luxembourg at the 1994 Winter Olympics? Courcelles (talk) 07:32, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, Courcelles—it's me who's editing while sleep deprived this time. I've moved this review over to the correct spot, and will review the other one tomorrow (after I get some sleep!). Cheers, --Usernameunique (talk) 07:36, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- No worries, happens to the best of us from time to time, and, hell, I now know to go do things to the 1994 article so you can have a shorter review tomorrow. Courcelles (talk) 07:44, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Everything has been added or addressed, thanks! Courcelles (talk) 08:20, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Courcelles, sorry for the delay in getting back to this. Per the quota allocation released on 20 January 2014, did Luxembourg have both an alpine skier and a cross-country skier in Olympic qualification position, but only the latter met the country's own qualification standards? Also, the sentences "According to the quota allocation released on 20 January 2014, Luxembourg had one athlete in qualification position for alpine skiing" and "According to the final quota allocation released by the International Ski Federation (FIS) on 20 January 2014, Luxembourg had one athlete in qualification position" appear to be in conflict with each other. --Usernameunique (talk) 04:27, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yep, one alpine and one CC were allowed by the FIS, but for whatever reason the Luxembourg Committee did not send an alpine skier. See if these changes made it any better, usernameunique. Courcelles (talk) 07:48, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
- Courcelles, will pass this momentarily. One minor thing: With the sentence "Peters confirmed with the withdrawal that his Olympics were over", do you mean he was done with the 2014 Olympics (which would go without saying), or done with Olympic competition generally (2014 and all subsequent years)? --Usernameunique (talk) 17:54, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
