Daughter correction
[edit]Hey folks, CarbonX especially, that was great work... Stating a long article to "need a lot of work", then shortening it down to what is "definitive" information and reducing it to a smaller form (which is actually a good idea), but with a blind amateurishness. Who ever shortened the article down deleted a lotta stuff that might have been written on own accounts or from someone's own memory, and valuable information that might have been in the wrong place here, but is very interesting for musicians, fans etc. - gone it is. Much less, at the same time the enthusiastic editor left the passage in the article that talks about Kathy as a daughter from his first marriage, which she isn't. She told me herself, so go figure. That's a great way of "castrating" an article...: editing out correct, or, respectively, needing-to-be-verified information, and leaving in the wrong stuff. Very professional. BTW: The link that proved the daughter info was a site copying (!) the original article online here, so we actually referred to ourselves. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.247.159.73 (talk) 18:16, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
With sincere apologies
[edit]There was so much wrong with this article that I decided to catstrate it to very basic information. I hope that other editors will create a better wiki article out of what is left. CarbonX (talk) 10:59, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Too long article.
[edit]IMHO the artcle is way too long, if i want to read his autograph, i'd buy it. Nothing against the man though- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.167.107.251 (talk) 13:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Did you have an idea maybe they don't sell the book everywhere? 80.220.162.132 (talk) 16:24, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Perkins' Death
[edit]The Tennessee Two article says that Perkins died from smoke inhalation when he fell asleep with a lit cigarette in his mouth. This article says he died from injuries received in a house fire. Does anyone know the true/exact story? -- Mpeg4codec 23:38, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
foul play
[edit]I removed this from the article: Authorities claimed the fire was caused either by suicide or foul play, but Cash believed Perkins fell asleep on his couch with a lit cigarette. I can't find any source for the suicide or foul play theory. Joyous | Talk 16:36, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
The movie scene
[edit]I get a little uncomfortable when we start to substantiate "cause of death" with evidence like a scene in a movie. Please ensure that the text makes it clear to the reader that the movie scene was only that until we have a move reliable source. -- 67.116.253.187 21:30, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
More on the movie scene
[edit]"on a late night busride to a performance" I believe this should be from a performance, but I'll let someone more certain decide.
Good article
[edit]Very good article! I just corrected a "to"/"too" typo in the "Walk the line" part. The removing of the suicide rumour or whatever it might have been is right I think. It is impossible to find such a theory and that does absolutely not fit into that article, because it has got nothing to do with the truth. But everything else is just fine, a "moving" article for me. Wow. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.244.178.254 (talk) 13:37, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Suggest we change the title on the bit about the formation of the Cash band (the Tennessee Two) to something a little more encyclopedic. Possibly along the lines of "The Cash Period," or "Work with Johnny Cash." Just a thought. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamandrewssoul (talk • contribs) 23:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Trimming is required
[edit]Wowsers, if anybody out their has the knowledge, this article needs alot of work. GoodDay (talk) 22:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
External link seems off the mark
[edit]Maybe Luther Perkins designed furniture - I don't know. But the second External Link at the bottom of the article - "A Luther Perkins Website" - well, first, it should be Web Site, I think... but I digress. The link is to: http://www.lutherperkins.com/ which seems to have nothing to do with Perkins, the musician, and is instead about furniture, apartments, design, & more.
