Need an Explanation

[edit]

Can anyone give an explanation on this sentence — “Light with a given amount of radiant energy will have more luminous energy if the wavelength is 555 nm than if the wavelength is longer or shorter.” Nakul Barman (talk) 09:29, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your eye is more sensitive to light with a wavelength of 555 nm than it is to light of any other color. Luminous energy reflects this. 1 mW of green light appears brighter than 1 mW of red light. The green light has more luminous energy, even though the power is the same.--Srleffler (talk) 23:09, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
