Phrasing of "Marketing" section

[edit]

Unsure if this is just my perception, but the phrasing in the Marketing section of this article sounds like it's advertising lululemon. I'd edit it to be more objective, but I'm unsure if that is necessary Sparechair (talk) 04:05, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it did have that feeling. I've edited it for neutrality. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:13, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's not even true. lululemon may have marketed "yoga pants" from 1998, but that's just rebranding what are called leggings elsewhere, which have existed since the Middle Ages (made to measure and cut on the bias for stretch) and fabric changed as it was available. Spandex, Lycra, or elastane was invented in 1958 and pants (leggings indistinguishable from lululemon "yoga pants") both capri length and ankle length very popular in Europe as outdoor casual wear (nothing to do with gyms or yoga) especially from 1991, but they considerably pre-date it. I see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga_pants is also an advert for lululemon. Polyester/PET is from about 1928, Nylon about 1939 and mixed fibres using these with Lycra/Spandex/Elastane with also cotton and viscose (artificial silk, Victorian) from the 1960s. Garments identical to lululemon's yoga pants and tops certainly existed in the 1970s. It's just branding and marketing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.203.197.224 (talk) 16:36, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"it was the only reason behind the name"

[edit]

Where does this quote in the 2nd paragraph of the article come from? The citation linking to a Business Insider piece does not actually have it anywhere.

It is clear based on several articles that the founder stated, "It's funny to watch them try and say it," referring to the Japanese and the name Lululemon, but I am not seeing the follow-up "it was the only reason behind the name" anywhere. Is this simply made up?

It was added here by an anonymous user. I suspect it was straight-forward vandalism. --Yamla (talk) 18:37, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Be Well propaganda

[edit]

This paragraph under 'Env Impact' reads as corporate mission statement advert. No citation; no apparent reason for inclusion. 2600:8804:7600:12:F800:322B:5A02:531E (talk) 08:30, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
