Luis has appeared on several music talent shows on portuguese tv channels and is best known for trying to impersonate Simon Cowell but with not so smart remarks and for his coments referencing to his life in London. These appearances in the portuguese tv brought him to the country's spotlight, where he was unknown before.
Luis is currently a judge on "Uma cancao para ti", a talent show for young people between 8 to 15 and has already been critised by showing on direct tv his preference for one of the candidates on live tv by saying he is going to win all. The candidate did win at the end, and Luis explained: I was surprised that the portuguese people voted on a black kid. I am confident talking like this because my mother is from Angola. In all contests I have been in the blacks were the first to be voted out. Because David (contestant) is african I thought he wouldn't pass the first round. I was mistaken and I apologise. I admire the portuguese people because they voted on talent. Luis also mentioned that he is a professional with fourty years experience, working with Paul McCartney and Rollings Stones among others: I have to choose the best, but parents of the other contestants would have prefered if he had chosen best words for the coment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.60.204 (talk) 21:50, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
