Instruments used by Legnani
[edit]Does anyone have any information on the instruments used by Legnani? Which of the guitars are still in existance? (Are they in museums, or privately held?) Jaesio (talk) 17:22, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Information regarding Legnani
[edit]Hi!
The following edit [1] shows, that Legnani's guitar design was used by a variety of different guitarmakers (luthiers); who gave credit to Legnani in the instruments label (the citation includes links to actual photos). Also included are external links to Legnani's biography.
User Ronz has twice deleted this content: [2], [3] - ignoring my very kind request of being more careful before doing reverts: [4]. John Rocher (talk) 15:20, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- The information needs so much work that I will leave it to someone else. The tone and presentation needs to be changed, and sources need to be verified and properly cited. --Ronz (talk) 15:42, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Image confusion: Legnani the sculptor is not Legnani the composer
[edit]Currently one often finds an image of a sculpture floating around online, which INCORRECTLY purports showing Luigi Legnani (1790–1877), the composer.
However the image is NOT of Legnani the composer. Instead it is a sculpture (often of Torquato Tasso) made by the sculptor Luigi Legnani (Ferrara 1852–1910).MyGiulianiAccount (talk) 21:35, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

the test of time
[edit]- After the 1850s Legnani ... became an instrument maker .... The "Legnani model" guitar was popular in Central Europe through the middle of the nineteenth century.
How long did this middle last? —Tamfang (talk) 02:34, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
