A fact from Ludwigsburg porcelain appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 16 September 2018 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that some Ludwigsburg porcelain figures from the 1760s (example pictured) show the lighter dance costumes pioneered by the ballet master Jean-Georges Noverre?
@Johnbod: I think I've just about exhausted Google Books in my search for decent material for the original manufactory, and I've only got two books with sections on the manufactory's marks, both from the 1900s. I don't have any more resources, except Marshall, on the ducal manufactory, so I'll be moving on to "Later companies." –Vami_IV†08:10, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What do you think about a section for Ludwigsburg manufactory porcelain markings? There's documentation (aforementioned 1900s books and Marshall) on them and there's a reference to one marking in the lead. –Vami_IV†08:10, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Personally, I think lots of detail about the complicated subjects of marks should be left to the specialist books & websites. But a bit more could be added. I think it's a good length now, & without more on the wares of the classic period can be left for now. It's bad that Höchst porcelain remains a redlink, as do other smaller factories. Sorry, that wasn't clear either. I meant that it is not clear from the sentence as written that it has this meaning. When I first read the sentence I had no idea what it meant. After your correction it occurred to me that it might mean what I wrote. If the existing sentence is a translation from German, what is the German version? Thanks. My reply wasn't clear. But I honestly did not understand the sentence. The words "similar" and "to" are not close enough to evoke that association and "made to" throws me off entirely. I would rephrase it to "The range of wares was similar to that of other German factories." Jmar67 (talk) 15:12, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
