@Gerda Arendt and LouisAlain: So I found this image on Deutsche Fotothek. It's clearly released under Creative Commons, and it claims to depict the subject of this article. So far so good. However
I'm not quite sure which of these people he is! I think the one in the suit as opposed to the one in the ... clerical costume? ... but confirmation would be nice.
Identification of the other one would be nice.
A better translation of the German description of the image (on the Commons image page, click on the image itself to see/edit) would also be nice.
Thank you for this find! My reading is that the photographer is Willy Pragher [de] from Freiburg, and it's an event of the 500th anniversary of the University of Freiburg, passing honorary doctorate to Strecker. No other name is given, I guess the other person in the background is from the university, the one to give the honour.
