"Damper" is an airflow control valve, so no. "Regulator" doesn't say much. "Buffer" it its, though buffer doesn't include the general definition. In my defense, the Spanish name is "Presa Retardadora del Ludueña", whence "delayer". I don't have the slightest idea what the technical term is in this case. --Pablo D. - "Damper" means a lot of things other than a valve... Pablo, if you check Dam you'll find a comprehensive classification. Maybe "check dam" is the better term. elpincha 15:42, 17 November 2005 (UTC)
