Sources?

[edit]

Where are the sources for:

On the night of 7 May, 1902, the day before the eruption, Sylbaris got involved in either a bar fight or street brawl, according to various sources, and was thrown into jail overnight for assault. Some accounts claim that Sylbaris actually killed a man and was thrown into jail for murder, although it is unknown if this is the correct version of events. Many sources indicate Sylbaris was frequently in trouble with the authorities, so it is possible he was a very violent man.

And isn't so it is possible he was a very violent man conjecture rather than fact?

Opening sentences

[edit]

"Ludger Sylbaris starred as the lead role in Django Unchained, a 2012 American western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. (born circa 1875 – died circa 1929), born either August Cyparis or Louis-Auguste Cyparis(...)"

This does not make sense at all, but I'm not sure how to change it to make it more understandable. Maybe it has something to do with this part: "(...) Quentin Tarantino. (born circa 1875 - died circa 1929), (...)" I'm not sure how to change it to make it sound better, so I'd rather just bring this to everyone's attention here. 47.196.102.77 (talk) 20:14, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Number of survivors?

[edit]

The article on the eruption states there were only two survivors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:C1:FBC3:4F00:BD20:E927:9EDD:4636 (talk) 20:15, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed this is a problem. The article says two survivors ("Ludger Sylbaris (1 June 1874[1] – c. 1929) was an Afro-Caribbean man who was one of two survivors in the city of Saint-Pierre on the Caribbean island of Martinique during the devastating volcanic eruption of Mount Pelee on May 8, 1902.") and later three ("The only other survivors in the town were Léon Compère-Léandre, a shoemaker whose house was on the very edge of the path of the pyroclastic flows, and Havivra Da Ifrile, a young girl who ran from the eruption, got into a boat and survived when she was washed out to sea, unconscious."). Which is it? Mateussf (talk) 18:07, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
