Coded language, COI
[edit]Just removed " she was of a generation which had lost a large number of its young men on the Western Front," from the article. Which is code/weasel wording for "not a lesbian." Her sexuality isn't addressed in the limited sourcing, so it won't be addressed by this editor. Most of this article was written by a long-dormant editor whose name indicates he's a member of Ms. Will's family, hence the mention of conflict of interest. The eight year old tag is still very relevant. Tapered (talk) 06:45, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
her name is repeated over and over
[edit]I came to this article via the Google link. It's an interesting article but Lucy Wills's name is repeated over and over in the text. When men are the subject of articles their full name appears at the beginning but generally they are referred to by their last name in subsequent paragraphs. So for example "John Smith" in introduced as "John Smith" but goes by "Smith" for the rest of the article. Reference to Wills should be the same because otherwise, it just looks silly. It also actually appears sexist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.138.89.122 (talk) 08:49, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. You are welcome to make the changes yourself. Dbfirs 11:02, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't notice this, but you might have to blame her family, and not sexism. See my COI observation above. Regards Tapered (talk) 04:41, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
