Lucumi ethnicity (George Brandon book)
[edit]The George Brandon book that is cited in this article, only mentions the Lucumi people in relation to Cuba. [1]
If there are other geographic connections (i.e. Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic) it would help if there were a citation to this effect, added to the article.
Otherwise you might not be able to resolve this question. I hope this helps.

No Lucumi people - Puerto Rican or Dominican connection
[edit]Per WP:BURDEN ("burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material"), I am reverting THIS edit by User:Latin Wolf, for a SECOND time because per my edit summary HERE ("Reverted edits by Latin Wolf to last version by Solar-Wind: the word Puerto Rico/an is not found even once in page 56 of the cited work, thus the edits are not supported by the citation given. Pls provide a real citations for your edits.") the citation provided does not support the claim that "The Lucumí people are an ...Afro-Puerto Rican... ethnic group."
By the way, though the BURDEN of proof lies with the adding/restoring editor, HERE I am making availble, online, from Google Books, page 56 of the cited book. It shows that, as I stated before, the word Puerto Rico/Rican is not found even once on that page. In fact, upon further examination the word Dominican is not found even once in the cited page either, as I result I am also removing the references to Dominicans from the article.

[edit]Lucumi are not an ethnic people. There are people who use the lucumi language for liturgical purposes, but that does not make them an ethnic group. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 17:28, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
