Problems with article as it stands
[edit]On investigation, this article has some problems:
- His date of birth is estimated to be 250, yet he is the son of someone who died around 230???
- His name appears to be Lucius Caesonius Ovinius Manlius Rufinianus Bassus (see PLRE 1, pg. 156 and Mennen's Power and Status in the Roman Empire, AD 193-284, pg. 92)
- He was not suffect consul 5 years apart (280 and 285); this would have been an extraordinary appointment. According to Mennen, he was suffect around 260, and the PLRE doesn't attempt to date it, except to state that it occured prior to 280. Since the 280 date has no citation, it should be removed.
I shall revise the article soon. Oatley2112 (talk) 22:28, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
