I find the word "reprisals" in "After that, the Jews became exposed to growing reprisals by the Nazis..." an unfortunate one. Obviously, there were both officially organised and unofficial attacks on German Jews. But these can hardly be called reprisals unless there was some previous action that in fact (or in Nazi imaginings) provoked them. There was not. Because this phrase is referenced to what may be the page subject's own words, I am hesitant to change it. But if it is not inconsistent with the source, then "organised attacks" seems a better description.--PaulBetteridge (talk) 09:58, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The sentence is a summary of what the source says; the source just gives specific examples. The German Wikipedia article, which is older, uses the word "Repressalien", which can be translated "reprisals" or "repressive measures". The second is a better meaning here. In its oldest meaning in English reprisals are something extracted from enemy foreigners. StarryGrandma (talk) 22:25, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is there info on the change from Cecilie? At one point she is referred to as Lucille Landau, which may not be accurate for the referenced point in time. It is conceivable that she changed it after moving to the U.S. Jmar67 (talk) 13:25, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
