The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic. This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more non-binary people. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it doesn't match what's most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Many, but not all, non-binary people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBTQ+ WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard. |
Importance?
[edit]This really isn’t a noteworthy person. Remove them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:98A:502:A730:E936:B9E8:6189:BDE1 (talk) 23:07, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
Involvement with NASA Kepler mission?
[edit]Needs information about involvement with NASA's Kepler mission.
The NASA.gov site doesn't mention Lucianne in "Meet the Kepler mission team" or "The people behind the missions" on their site but Lucianne's involvement is mentioned in various articles. This page doesn't seem to mention it. I am not big on research so I just want to put this out there if anyone wants to look into it and update the page.

"Stellar astronomer and TED Senior Fellow Lucianne Walkowicz works on NASA's Kepler mission, searching for places in the universe that could support life."
https://www.adlerplanetarium.org/blog/meet-scientists-from-the-kepler-space-telescope-mission/ "Dr. Lucianne Walkowicz discusses how the mission kicked off with a bang from the very start. They state, 'It’s hard to beat the launch itself! Seeing a rocket launch is amazing to begin with, but it’s also incredibly nerve wracking when your whole job/career depends on something that is literally about to ride an explosion into space. It’s an amazing moment for team camaraderie too—at launch even the most dignified, accomplished senior astronomers are like little kids on Christmas morning. I met so many people at the launch who are still my friends and colleagues today!'" TheCa3 (talk) 04:03, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
