New airport
[edit]Luau International hasn't been in operation long enough to be listed on the current group of airport lists, including ICAO and IATA. When those idents become available, or when the current ones for the other airport are transferred, we'll put them in. As of 2015, the airport had not completed its international certification.
The importance of Luau is that it is a gateway to the mineral riches of the DRC's landlocked Katanga Province. The province was cut off back during the days of its rebellion, when (pre-DRC) Zaire blew up the rail bridge. The Chinese have restored the bridge and several rail connections in exchange for favorable trade treatment. Cptmrmcmillan (talk) 06:12, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
