- The centered quote in the lead section is weird, I think it should be a normal in-line quotation. The MOS says it should be 40 or more words for a blockquote and that one breaks up the text too early on. Wikipedia:Blockquote#Block quotations

- I understand by reading further in the article that the Forth Bridge is the company, but it's not clear in the lead, I think just the addition of the word "company" would clarify it for first-time readers.

- This sentence is hard to read, I think it should be restructured: "In 1901, after a long period of difficulty for heavy industry including mining, steel and shipbuilding, with, he feared, worse to come as manufacturing grew in Germany, America and Japan, he made a decisive move, at age 85, to guard the family's wealth."
- Perhaps "In 1901, at age 85, after a long period of difficulty for heavy industry and with fears of worse to come as manufacturing grew in Germany, America and Japan, he made a decisive move to guard the family's wealth."
