Inconsistency with Field galaxy
[edit]Field galaxy says they comprise ~5% of all galaxies and that most low surface brightness galaxies are field galaxies. Low surface brightness galaxy says ~90% of all galaxies are LSB galaxies. These estimates blatently contrafict each other. Neither one cites a source. -- General Wesc (talk) 00:48, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- The claims were removed from both articles (Field galaxy, Low surface brightness galaxy). -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:33, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- From the SciAm article source just introduced, it is stated that half of all galaxies are estimated to be LSB galaxies. 65.94.45.185 (talk) 12:55, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
Comments
[edit]The "Virgo HI 21" dark galaxy has the hallmarks of a (slightly over-large) LSB galaxy 24.143.65.75 (talk) 13:33, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
