Criterion 1

[edit]

It is reasonably well written.

a (prose, no copyvios, spelling and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):

Lead

[edit]
  • WP:OVERLINK of Billie Eilish in songwriter parameter in the infobox.
  • There should not be citations in the lead section, per WP:LEADCITE: Because the lead will usually repeat information that is in the body, editors should balance the desire to avoid redundant citations in the lead with the desire to aid readers in locating sources for challengeable material.
  • "Lovely" is a song by American singers Billie Eilish and Khalid for the official soundtrack of the second season of the Netflix drama series 13 Reasons Why.[1] There is poor grammar and a citation in the very first sentence of the lead.
  • A chamber pop song, the songs lyrics are about two people trying to overcome serious depression. poor grammar and spelling errors, who are the two people?
  • The video depicts Eilish and Khalid walking through a glass case and interact with each other. Grammar issues again.
  • Reviewers praised the visual's simplicity and its correlation to the song. I don't see any "praise" in this article.
  • Alongside top ten peaks in several countries, it was certified quadruple platinum in Canada and Australia. read this aloud, very awkward and poor grammar.

 Done

Background and composition

[edit]
  • There are MOS:CURLY issues with the quote marks in this section, please note the guideline Use "straight" quotation marks, not “curly” ones
  • "start getting more hopeless" is too informal, needs rewording.
  • "further mentioned", "Furthermore, the singers" - These are filler words.

 Done

Reception

[edit]
  • "from the official soundtrack for the second season of 13 Reasons Why" this should be properly introduced in the Background section, not here. "official" is not needed.
  • The song has further peaked within the top ten in Australia,[15] Belgium[16] and New Zealand.[17 It didn't peak in the top 10 in Belgium, the Ultratip chart is an extension chart of Belgium's Ultratop chart for songs that have yet to enter the main chart.
  • It has been awarded several certifications, most notably quadruple platinum by you "receive" certifications, you don't "award" them. "most notably" is a peacock term that should be avoided.

Promotion

[edit]
  • Eilish first performed "Lovely" with Khalid in Japan in 2018. where in Japan?
  • MOS:CURLY issues here.
  • "They walk around for a while," could be either removed or written in a more encyclopedic way.
  • The walls would begin to be shrouded in ice as Khalid and Eilish hold each other inside. As the video ends, the ice thaws to reveal the box is empty. grammar issues, needs rewriting.
  • The music video was positively received by music critics upon its release Not really positive reviews, MTV and Idolator are just describing the video and noting what happens in it.
  • WP:OVERLINK of Idolator, Idolator should not be in italics.
  • There is a stray space in " undeniably somber"

There is also an empty "Notes" section. Please remove. Cool Marc 13:32, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 2

[edit]

It is factually accurate and verifiable.

a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
References

I will be checking all the references and each comment below is under their number as they existed at this time. The order in the article may change from this numbering as refs get moved, added or deleted.

  • [Ref 1] - missing author Hannah Mylrea, link NME, should use "Cite web" template, with NME as a website
  • [Ref 2] - incorrect citation, use "Cite web" template and add iTunes Store as a publisher.
  • [Ref 3] - incorrect citation, use "Cite web" template and add via YouTube, and Darkroom and Interscope Records as a publisher. Or even better just invoke the Tidal ref which are more reliable for writing and production credits.
  • [Ref 4] - please note there should never be quotation marks within quotation marks. Read MOS:QWQ to see how to fix this issue in the reference title.
  • Ref 2 and 5 are duplicates.
  • [Ref 5] - does not support the claim it was the first single from 13 Reasons Why, iTunes Store should use "Cite web" template and "publisher", not "Cite news"
  • [Ref 6] - link Texas Monthly, use "website" and not "work". You should use a consistent reference style throughout, stick with the Cite web reference template.
  • [Ref 7] - MOS:QWQ issues
  • [Ref 8] - MOS:QWQ issues, link does not work
  • [Ref 9] - should use Cite web template, no need for "|language=en-US" parameter"
  • [Ref 10] - stray spacing through reference template, should use "|last1=|first1=|last2=|first2=|last3=|first3=" parameters to attribute article authors.
  • [Ref 11] - MOS:QWQ issues in title, Complex should be italicized and be in the website parameter, not the publisher parameter
  • [Ref 12] - Missing author Tanis Smither, link Earmilk, should use Cite web template, Earmilk should not be in caps, we avoid caps on Wikipedia per MOS:CAPS
  • [Ref 13] - verifies peak position but not debut position, the song actually did not debut at number 64.
  • [Ref 19] - does not support claim that the song was certified 4 times platinum in Australia.
  • [Ref 20] - is a random YouTube video by an unverified user, unreliable source.
  • [Ref 21] - should be Cite web, not Cite news
  • [Ref 22] - should be Cite web, not Cite news, Alex Young is the author not the publisher, therefore you should use "last=Young|first=Alex", use "|website=" for Consequence of Sound
  • [Ref 24] - "inspired by Eilish's desire to portray two people being “hopelessly trapped”." is a copyright violation and is copied directly from the Idolator source. WP:OVERLINK of Idolator. Should use Cite web, not Cite news. Should use website and not work parameter.
  • [Ref 29] - archive does not work for this chart.
  • [Ref 33] - uses the old Ireland singlechart template, it should use "Ireland3"
  • [Ref 34] - says it peaked at number 55 in the Netherlands, not number 12
  • [Ref 38] - archive does not work for this chart.
  • [Ref 39] - says it peaked at number 51 in Sweden, not number 58
  • [Ref 50] - Austria certification, remove "& Khalid" in certification parameter as it is causing a page error.
  • [Ref 51] - Brazil certification, remove "& Khalid" in certification parameter as it is causing a page error.

More to follow. Cool Marc 13:32, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 3

[edit]

It is broad in its coverage.

a (major aspects): b (focused):

Coverage is limited for a popular song by a singer who is widely written about in the media. There is more to be added here and the article only scratches the surface. I found the following from a quick Google search:

Criterion 4

[edit]

It follows the neutral point of view policy.

Fair representation without bias:

Some sources have been misrepresented (see above) and so the article's content should be modified. Words like "praised" and "positive reviews" have been given undue weight. Cool Marc 17:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 5

[edit]

It is stable.

No edit wars, etc.:

The article history indicates that the article is stable. Cool Marc 17:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Criterion 6

[edit]

It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.

a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):

The cover art meets standards. Cool Marc 17:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
