Daft Punk "High Life" Sample
[edit]Is it noteworthy to mention that Daft Punk sampled "Break Down for Love" for their song "High Life" in 1997? I'm just wondering because it was recently discovered here that certain parts of the first and second verse, as well as the chorus, were used in High Life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.227.240.121 (talk) 18:36, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see where your "1997" date comes from, since "High Life" was released in Daft Punk's 2001 album Discovery. In any case, a reliable source establishing notability would be required for the sample information. YouTube is not considered a reliable source; even if it was, a video where someone edits a song to make it sound like another song would be an inadequate source of sample information. jhsounds (talk) 20:21, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
The date was my mistake, as I mixed up the release dates of the Discovery and Homework albums.
In any case, there aren't any articles aobut this particular sample because It was first discovered on YouTube, and only on YouTube. I know it's not a reliable source, But those samples definitely aren't a coincidence, wether they chopped and re-arranged, or not.
I even have a sample of "High Life" in the same key and tempo as "Break Down for Love," but I'm assuming that wouldn't be a reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.227.240.121 (talk) 18:05, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
